Re: Anybody know what this is?

spent 20 minutes with google using combinations

keebler
coin
Roosevelt ( started looking for Taft )
half dollar

no luck ( nothing on ebay )
even without the silver
might be valuable to a Roosevelt/presidental collector

i wouldn't let it go for less than $100
imho

Pretty cool "graffitti". Maybe it had something to do with the campaign to put Teddy on Mt. Rushmore.

Here's the full patent - http://www.google.com/patents?id=psl...775826#PPP3,M1

It mentions stamping high-relief images on metal plates "for jewelry or other purposes" (lines 10 - 13).

Re: Anybody know what this is?

I have only found one other person looking for info on these coins.

I was told the original coin was a "barber" half dollor?

I do not know.

One story I was told is that it has something to do with the Panama canal.

Thanks for your feed back.

I have a similar coin made of copper with Washington Bust on one side (raised) and a Jefferson Bust on the other side (raised) :bear_tongue:

This is very unique and classic. Hang on to it, show you're grand kids some day.
